India has recorded a record surge in COVID-19. In this regard, Russia proposed to supply India with medical oxygen and remdesivir, a drug that is widely used to treat coronavirus infection. “Moscow has stated that it can supply from 300 thousand to 400 thousand doses of remdesivir per week, and this number will be increased. Now negotiations are underway on the delivery of this drug, as well as shipments of medical oxygen from Russia to India by sea,” the publication quotes a source in the Ministry of Health of India.
The drug is also produced by Indian pharmaceutical companies, but its stocks have declined due to the growing number of covid-infected people in the country and the increasing demand for injections of this drug for their treatment.
