On 7th of October the grand opening of the renovated sculpture of Mahatma Gandhi took place in the Muzeon Park of Arts. Mohandas Gandhi is a significant Indian politician and public figure who professes the philosophy of non-violence and spread his ideas throughout the world including Russia.
The ceremony of laying flowers was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Russian Federation, His Excellency D.B. Venkatesh Varma, Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of the City of Moscow, Chairman of the Board of the Business Council for Cooperation with India, Sergey Cheremin as well as Director of the Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure named after M. Gorky, Pavel Trekhleb.
This event was held in conjunction with the large-scale celebration of the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.
