The Government of India has given permission to Hetero Biopharma to export 4 million doses of single-component vaccine Sputnik Light to the Russian Federation. This information was published by the news agency Press Trust of India.
According to the agency, the drug is already at the production stage at the plant whereas the Russian vaccine is only receiving a permission for use in India now.
In the middle of September Sputnik Light began its third phase of testing. If the vaccine is approved by the specialized committee of experts under the Drugs Controller General of India, the Russian drug will become the first single-component vaccine used in India.
