Vikram Singh Punia President of the Pharmasyntez Group of Companies Born in Jaipur, India, on March 15, 1973, Vikram Singh Punia is a Russian citizen. He graduated from a prestigious Birla Public School in Pilani, India, and came to Russia in 1992 under a state exchange program for specialists and students between the two countries. Mr. Punia lived in Irkutsk in 1992-2010 and has been living in Moscow since 2010. He founded Pharmasyntez Company in Irkutsk in September 1997. Mr. Punia is a co-chairman of the Business Council for Cooperation with India, a non-profit organization, and a member of the Leaders Club for Promotion of Business Initiatives, a non-profit partnership. He was awarded a Medal for Entrepreneurial Merit by the Irkutsk Region Government in 2017.

The Pharmasyntez Group of Companies is the largest national manufacturer of drugs for the treatment of socially significant diseases such as TB, HIV/AIDS, cancer, diabetes mellitus, and hepatitis. Its production facilities are represented by five high-tech plants in the following cities: Ussuriysk, Irkutsk, Bratsk, Tyumen, and Saint Petersburg.
