Russian Direct Investment Fund and Indian pharmaceutical company Panacea Biotec has launched the production of the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus “Sputnik V” in India. The first batch of the vaccine was manufactured at the facilities of Panacea Biotec in the city of Buddy. Then it will be sent to the N. F. Gamalei Research Center for Quality Control of the drug. Full-scale production of Sputnik V is planned to be launched in the summer of this year. Sputnik V was registered in India as part of the accelerated registration procedure on April 12, 2021, and vaccination with the drug in the country began on May 14.
