Within the framework of the Russian-Indian intergovernmental commission on military and military-technical cooperation and the Russian-Indian Summit, Russia invited Indian partners to consider new areas of interaction, including the joint development of a new Indian main battle tank based on the Russian platform «Armata». The development will be carried out according to the technical specifications of the customer of armored vehicles. India is currently planning to start a large-scale project to build a new main battle tank.
State tests of armored vehicles created on the basis of «Armata» are underway in Russia. On the basis of this platform, the T-14 tank, as well as the armored repair and recovery vehicle BMP T-15, were developed.
