International Investment Summit “Vibrant Gujarat” was canceled

Due to the rapid increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, the visit of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin to India, which was to be held on 10th of January, was canceled. Heads of state and government from 5 countries, including Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, received an invitation to the 10th Summit “Vibrant Gujarat”.

The event organizers canceled the forum and postponed it indefinitely at the last moment. “Vibrant Gujarat” is the Indian analogue of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and a platform for interaction between the business and expert communities of the East and West countries. The project started in 2003 in the state of Gujarat under the leadership of Narendra Modi. The state authorities and organizers were forced to take such a step as canceling the forum due to the 15-fold increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Gujarat, as well as the infection of the staff of the organizing committee.
