The Indian Ministry of Textiles, in collaboration with the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation, is all set to host the ‘Week of SCO Textile Traditions’ from April 1 to April 15, 2023, at the famous DILLI HAAT in New Delhi.

The event, being held under India’s Chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State, aims to showcase the unique national textile traditions of the SCO Member States and provide a platform for handloom craftspersons to display their talents and skills. The Week of SCO Textile Traditions will feature the shared knitting-culture heritage of Member States, including Ikkat textiles from Central Asia, Suzani embroidery and cotton and silk textile weaving.

Each Member State, Observer, and Dialogue Partner of SCO will be provided with a free of cost stall by the Indian side to exhibit their textiles at the Dilli Haat INA. The expenses incurred for international travel and accommodation at Delhi will be borne by the respective Member States. In addition, a Cultural Evening at Dilli Haat is also proposed to be hosted exclusively for SCO Member States, Observers and Dialogue Partners.
