Friendship festival “Day of India” will be held in Moscow on 11th-14th of August

The traditional summer festival "Day of India" will be held in the capital of Russia in the landscape park "Island of Dreams" on 11th-14th of August. The organizer is the Indian Cultural and National Center "Sita" with the support of the Government of Moscow and the Department for External Economic and International Relations of the city of Moscow. The event this year is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and India. The Day of India has been held in Moscow since 2014.

The traditional summer festival “Day of India” will be held in the capital of Russia in the landscape park “Island of Dreams” on 11th-14th of August. The organizer is the Indian Cultural and National Center “Sita” with the support of the Government of Moscow and the Department for External Economic and International Relations of the city of Moscow. The event this year is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and India. The Day of India has been held in Moscow since 2014.
The program of the ethnic festival includes traditional dances and henna paintings, an Indian bazaar, Bollywood cinema, a practice of various yoga styles, study of Hindi, a chess tournament, fashion shows of Indian designers, a chariot procession etc. Participation in the event is free.
Guests of the festival will feel the atmosphere of the ancient country of Bharata with its aromas of spices and incense, the taste of ripe mangoes and fresh chapatis, and traditional music. People can take part in a dance flash mob to the legendary hit from the movie “Disco Dancer” Jimmy Jimmy Aaja, relax in meditation and yoga master classes. At the Indian Bazaar, more than 120 tents will present natural cosmetics, souvenirs and jewelry, spices, mahogany furniture and tea. In the food court area, guests of the festival can not only taste spicy dishes from 30 restaurants with cuisine from different parts of India, but also learn how to cook them.
At the festival Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to participate in the traditional wedding ceremony. Couples will go through all the stages of the Indian wedding ceremony, and the audience will see this colorful process. Within the framework of the festivals contests and drawings will be held. Winners will receive memorable prizes and gifts.
