The defense tender was won by Russia.

Russia won the Indian tender for the supply of MANPADS, said the head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) Dmitry Shugaev. The object of the tender was the Igla-S MANPADS designed to protect army units, military and civilian facilities from enemy tactical aviation attacks, as well as to destroy cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, including at night. "Our proposal for Igla-S won a fierce competition in the tender for the supply of MANPADS," he said.
This complex will replace the outdated model "Igla-M", some of the missiles will be produced at the Indian plant Bharat Dynamics Ltd.
